King Rummy Rules
King Rummy is a variation of Contract Rummy. The principal differences between King Rummy and Contract Rummy are:
- King Rummy uses 108 cards - two 52-card decks plus 4 jokers.
- There are only four contracts.
- Ten cards are dealt to each player in every deal.
Contracts: Each deal has a different contract, which consists of some combination of sets and sequences:

|4||Two sets of 3 and one sequence of 4|
Jokers: Use of jokers works the same as in Contract Rummy, except that when a joker is melded, other players have an immediate opportunity to replace the joker with their own card (precedence given in order of play). When they do so, they take the joker into their hand, and the original player continues his turn.
Laying Off: On deals 1-3, players have an opportunity to lay off additional cards after they've melded the initial contract. They may do this immediately, without waiting for their next turn (and in this way "go out blind"). On the 4th deal, the contract requires all cards, so there is no additional laying off.
